Vette(s): 1977 L-82 originally white/buckskin interior.
Currently undergoing a frame-off resto. and modifications.YEEHAW!!!
After what seemed like an eternity, I finally shipped my frame off to be sandblasted, given a little "TLC" in the repair and patch department, and powdercoated.
I only wish this happened two years ago, when I originally planned it, but life gets in the way. My vette has been sitting in my garage in various stages of disassembly for three years now. Man, that is an eternity.
I told the frame guy to take his time with it, and now its time to get the body outta here also, after I make a mobile frame for it.
Then its off to straightening out the garage.
Later everybody.

Once you get the frame back, the reassembly should go fairly quick. It's also a good motivator when you finally start to see the progress.
Another side benefit; It's an absolute joy to work on a car chassis from the top instead of crawling under and not getting wrapped up in 30 years of grease and oil!
Good luck with it!
Are you doing the body yourself? I made the rack for mine in a weekend, I can send some pics of it if it will help.

Way to go Alan. Don't clean the garage up to nice, you won't be able to find a thing.

Dave,
Yep, I'm doing it all myself, and loving every minute of it. Amen to not having to work under the body, my hair was always soft and bouncy, though, with all of the oil, and fluid I've collected from one too many head bumps.
I can't wait until it comes back, first job will be, after the suspension, installing the "Steeroids" rack and pinion conversion. That should look killer in there with a powder coated frame.
Yes, I would love to see a few pictures of your resto. Your baby is really looking fine, and I'm going to be building the mobile brace this weekend. I appreciate that offer.
Hopefully, I'm not the only psycho here that does this, but does anyone go to sleep at night thinking about working on your vette? I actually had a dream about the steering job.

Zen Master Ken,
Yes, we all agree that you're nuts...
But we love you just the same.

Hey Alan,
Congratulations! I hope some pics of the proigress will follow. I forgot about your interest in the exhaust pipes. They were too epensive to ship....nearly what I was asking for them. Tell you what, I'm in Central NJ - a nice Sunday drive and they're yours for the low low price of zippo, zilch, nada, nil, nuttin'! (Helps me clean out my garage

Luke,
Thanks for the offer, I'll take you up on that, as soon as I can get the time to travel a little. The better half is 6 months pregnant, and SLIGHTLY hormonal.
I had to work some mojo just to take a 50 mile trip to drop off the frame, so I would be pushing it right now.
Is Howell anywhere near Parsippany, or South Plainfield? I have cousins there that I might be visiting soon. If all else fails, I'll just pay the shipping also. It would be nice to start my vette up, and actually have some pipes there. I might give my 2-yr.old son a complex if I don't. Thanks again.

P.S. Thanks again for serving.
