Vette(s): Little on the rough side right now, with new paint and new interior it will be looking fine!
So while i was working on one of my headlight housings this morning i happened to look towards the back of the car and noticed a hole in a pan just behind the engine... it looks like this pan is going to need to be replaced but i am wonder first off what pan it is, i can tell that the engine oil pan is just in front of it and i think the transmission pan is just behind it. i am also wondering how hard it is going to be to replace both the pan and whatever fluid was inside of it. also this is a 75 vette.
Thanks for any help!

That is the flywheel/torque converter dust cover. The hole is there as a drain, so it's not a boo-boo. There are no fluids in there, unless the engine or the trans is leaking.
It does look like the bottom of the cover has a dent in it, but it's not a big deal, as long as it is not rubbing on the flywheel.....and you would know if it was....it would be making a heck of a loud scraping noise.
The cover is held on by 4 screws/bolts. You can take it off pretty easily, and bang the dent out, if ya want.
