Vette(s): 1975 convertible, with the hard top and power streering.it a 350 L48 with auto trans. the color is light blue.
Took out the vette today and it runs rough. This is because I have to change the plugs and wires. What got me concerned is at 60 mph my tachometer is reading 6500 rpm ( hope I said that right) I think that that rpm is high .... I right about that. Rick.

That has to be a problem with the tach, Rick, unless you're staying in first gear! Mine at 70 is about 3500. The engine would be screaming at that RPM! Does yours have the mechanical or electronic tach?

Shocked 6500 rpm in high gear would be more like 120mph!!Shocked

LOL
Chances are the tach filter is goofing up, or the tach itself. How does it act when you start it up? Does it stick in one spot, fluctuate, or whut?

I agree with Mr. Adams.  Sumpin is "goofy"!  At 6500 rpm, the engine should be "screaming" at ya!!!!
