OK, don't laugh.  I have a Mid American assembly manual.  Are all torques done in foot pounds?  Book indicates torques w/ an Nm symbol next to it which is Newton-metre.   My torques experience has been mainly working on weapons system on fighters in the Air Forces; we only did it in inches.

Example:  Harmonic balancer is 80-110 in book.

We buy our AIMs from a different source, but they all come from an original GM manual.  Ours has METRIC stamped on many spec pages.  Correct torque for the harmonic balancer bolt is 60 -65 foot pounds, so the specs you have must be metric.  There are many sources for torque specs in general.  This one has a pretty complete list:  http://boxwrench.net/specs/chevy_sb.htm
