Time to start getting ready for spring driving. I would like to do some minor performace changes to the car and here are my thoughts.
Install a PertronixII electronic points.
Replace coil with a Pertronix Flame ThrowerII. They offer oil or epoxy..whats the dif and whats the best. They have a 45k or a 60K volt unit. Advise?? Not sure what to do about the plug wires, the car is very original and would like to keep the braided wires on the car now. Any thoughts on checking the wires for defects?
New MSD cap and rotor set. New AC/Delco Rapid fire plugs. New AC/Delco Gas Shocks.

Thanks in advance for any info/help.

Silver,
I also went with the electronic points, I didn't fair well with the braided wire, so I used Taylor Spiral wires instead. The Rapid fires and Taylor wires as far as I'm concerned, are well worth the money. As to your other questions, I'm sorry I can't help (haven't gotten that far yet)I'm sure another member will be helping you out.
Good luck |smokin|

The difference between the coils is that oil filled construction offers better cooling and voltage insulation and the epoxy type is for applications where extreme vibration is a factor.

I would think for most uses outside of dedicated racing activities the oil filled would be best.

What kind of Taylor wires are the best? I see two different ones, a HI Energy Series and a Spiro-Pro series. Both are 8mm. And, where can you get them  ? As for the Rapid Fire plugs on the AC website, they say use #2 plugs. Sound right? Would the number change for electronic ignition? Thanks in advance for any help........ longhorn29438383.3595601852
