Hey Tux...

Iffin ya got the time, let's chat a little about your 2101Clap

I got a bad case of maniphold envy. I took a gander at your phyne picture of the 2101 and I gots ta thinking "MAN,,,That's just what I need"Hug

I gots questions....

Are ya using new manifold stickers. (bolts)..? What color are ya going to slather (paint)on it...? What blender (carb)are ya going to bolt on the top.

NOW...ya'll have just been exposed to the way we used to talk back in the late 50's when I was a punk kid cruzin in my 50 stovebolt rag top.

How bout it Tux....give us the poop !!Tongue

Alrite here's the deal... I am going to spruce the blacray up this winter underneath and under the hood.

I am buying a Edelbrock 2101 because it matches up with the engine mods that have been previously done.

I plan on using the Edelbrock Intake Manifold Bolt Kit.

I really like the Q-Jet and plan on keeping it. I have 5 others at my disposal so I think it would be fuelish of me to start over.

I pretty well got that Holley thing out of my system years ago.

I am also thinking of dumping my chrome valve covers and going back old school with some Aluminium M/T or finned Chevrolet covers.

I have a polised painted vision in my mind of how they should turn out.

The block & heads are going to get a new fresh coat of Chevy Orange and the water pump is comming off for review. While I'm there I have a chrome Moroso timing chain cover that has been hanging on the wall for some time. I just as well slide it on now.

I have new red plastic slip sheathing to place over some of the wiring.

There will probally be some other tricks that take place as I move along (like ditching the rubber radiator hose.) but I don't have some of that stuff bought yet.

Does that paint a better picture for you as to what is going on in My Garage?

It will have a similar resemblence to this... (borrowed pic)

Nice choice Tux.....just luv the manifold.....I'm thinking....I'm thinking !!

I was going to take mine down to long block status but now i'm thinking about removing the engine and do a complete tear down. (hate the thought of machine shops.) Sure would make the detailing of everything alot easier and I would know exactly what I had, engine-wise. At this time I don't think i'll consider a crate. Mine performs too well at present. It just needs all new gaskets,(except heads) plus fuel pump, check valve, Q-jet, vacuum, and timing checked out and a good cleaning and detailing./

Sometime soon (maybe tonight) i'll send a PM and run some ideas buy ya and see what ya think.
