Hank, what are you refering to as hard lines? Copper, Steel, stiff plastic? Any can be used as long as its sealed and routed correctly. It can be a LOT of work properly routing them. I have seen one set made from steel lines, welded to brackets, and chromed. The very ends still connected with rubber. It must of took the owner a LLOONNGG time to do that job, but it did look really great.

If you are talking about the vacuum lines and doing them in the rubber.......there is a kit you can buy from Dr. Rebuild with all the rubber hoses and a diagram.

I was thinking steel or aluminum. I agree it would be a lot of work, but once done and polished, not chrome, you wouldn't have to worry about leaks and it would look a lot better. shouldn't be that expensive either.

Especially if you could engineer them to unplug and move out of the way to work on stuff, and their shape would tell ya where they came from. Wish I had the time for such endeavors.

replacing all the vac. lines, etc. is up there on my list of ''to do's''. The good think is, I've been through my vacume system so much look'n for leaks, that I've got the routing memorized.
aceinthehole, that's a great idea. not sure how practical it is though. I'm going to try to replace as many rubber lines as I can. will keep in mind how to remove and replace easily. this is a long term project.
