My son has a nice red 82 coupe with 76K miles and we recently spent the weekend replacing the spark plugs and valve cover gaskets but we still have a small oil leak on the passenger side (A/C equipped). (We also have bruised knuckles and no beer left in the frig.) We made sure the covers were clean and tightened them to specs but we still have oil spots on the garage floor and the starter has oil running down the side. Any suggestions to keeping the engine dry?....Thanks!

I had to use brake cleaner on a rag to clen the mating head of oil 1st. Then did the same to the valve cover. Bought and used cork gaskets with old style Indian Head copper Sealant gasket sealer.
I have Chrome covers with T handles and tightened them down ever so gently. Works for me but is only good for about 2 yrs at a time. I attribute this to the 7 months of idle time, then the 5 moths of sporadic drive time. Not ta mention the shake of the non stock motor.
