OK I did go back, read all the info om vin #'s but just wanted to check and see if what I got was right.
Vin is 194670s416185.

Engine block Vo525ctk
705416185

casting 3970 010

So would someone dissect that for me?? Please?

I did check  the head, exhaust man, carb and intake #'s against the book and they were all CORRECT! (Head 3927186)
Whats the L19?

Those were easy as they all came in a box.

It came with the original smog pump. How cool.

Put it on a lift today and lets just say I wont be driving it over the Barret Jackson floor camera anytime soon.

PS, hope you all dont mind me updating you as to this new project. Its just that how do you tell your friends all about your new Vette when they are just getting by. You know what I mean? There are maybe 2 people that even know I bought  the last one.

So I hope you understand your my only outlet for my excitment. The wife could care less!

L19 is the casting date for the head(s), Dec 19.
The heads are the correct casting for LT1...does the date precede the engine build date? If so, then they are the original heads for the car.
The block casting # is also correct.
V0525CTK is:
V= Flint assembly
05= May
25 = 25th day (engine assembled May 25th)
CTK= 370hp LT1, Holley carb, solid lifter, transistor ignition, 4 speed

Looks gud to me!

Vette(s): White '79 Corvette. It's a driver.
Hey John,
Although I can't add much info. or advice to your recent posts on the LT-1, I like the enthusiasm! It's contageous!
Although it was sad that the LT-1 had to be sold, it's great that it stayed "in the family"!
Keep 'em comin'!
Enjoy your Corvette!

They were already producing parts for the '70 year model by Dec, even tho the '69 production ran long. You're fine on the heads.

If you'll look at the forward edge of the driver side door pillar, you'll see the trim tag. That will give you the production date. There are other threads on trim tag info here somewhere...

Thanks Larry, I will check those dates against the tag.

Jim, the car had power steering added by the 3rd owner so that ncrs stuff is long gone. Without that though I believe it could be put togather completely stock.
I mean it even came with the smog pump!

And I did get the restoration guild with the car. That where I checked the #'s of the parts from.
Larry had all kinds of stuff.
Like about 6 original issues of "Corvette News" from late 69 through 70.

OK, so Joels says the engine was assembled May 25th.

Larry says he thinks the car was assembled March 22 or 23rd.

They wouldnt have assembled the car without the dang motor in it.

I need to check the trim tag. The letter will be the month and the #'s the day correct?
