Hey yall what is this between the alternator and the master cylinder? And do I need it on my 77?

Hard to tell, but it kinda looks like a cruize control servo. Does it have vacuum lines going to it? OR a cable to the throttle on the carb?

Vette(s): 1979, Targa Blue (72 Color), Pace Car rear spoiler, L88 hood, Dark blue factory interior, 525HP 406, HD 700R4, 370 gears,Steeroids, composite rear spring, TT IIs wrapped in T/A Radials.
Most of the factory solenoids were mounted at the DS rear of the intake manifold.
