Hi, I am newer here, and looking for a some info on a good cam. I have a stock L82 185hp motor. I am looking for a cam to help bump the hp up some. I don't mind a lope, but I don't want a radical cam. Anyone have some good cam specs? Who makes a good one?

I have another question as well. What are the differences between the L48 and the L82 motors? I know the L48 makes 220hp, but where do the differences lie? Thanks in advance for any info.

I think higher compression ratio,longer stroke,usually an L-82 is 200 horse ,an l-48 is 185

The L82 is the 220 hp motor and the l48 is the 185. The difference between them is the l82 larger ports, longer duration & higher lift cam, larger intake & exhaust (2.02"/1.60") valves with higher lift, pushrod guideplates, pushrods with steel inserts on rocker arm ends, aluminum impact extruded pistons (flat/notched), moly rings, forged steel crankshaft & 4-bolt main bearing caps, higher capacity starter, and finned aluminum rocker covers. The l82 cam is not really too bad, but i think if you just call a place that makes cams like comp cams or crane cams they can lead you in the right direction of what cam to get. hope this helps
