There is some great info in this piece.
Good Luck,

Bill,
I've built many a Qjet in my day and it's my opinion that if a guy did the whole job for $100 he'd be working awful cheap. That would probably just cover the labor. The biggest problem you run into with Qjets is people have a tendency to overtighten the two front bolts and warp the top and the float bowl. It's not a terribly hard job if you are mechanically inclined but if your carb is very crusty it would be best to have a bucket of carb dip. There seems to be plenty of good advice on this site if you decide to dig in yourself.
Good luck,
Rich

Bill,
Good luck getting much for $100. I had www.thequadshop.net do mine about 18 months ago, over $300, but it looks and runs great. He lives in Rockford, Ill.

Bill,
Me thinks the concensus on this is if you want it done for $100 bucks, you'd better read up and do it yourself. Or, do what I did...get rid of the QJet and throw a Holley or Edelbrock on there. Couple of members are running Demon carbs on their cars too. Course, I'm not worried about keeping it stock. I'm going to be keeping it long enough to let the prices get up around where the C2's are now before I sell! Course, by then I'll have about that much invested anyway!
Around $100.00...... in your wildest dreams. I think it cost me a little north of $350.00 but it was money well spent.
I'd gladly swap my shiny Holley 650 for your ugly Q-Jet.... IMHO, the Q-Jet is the best sreet carb ever...
