It's time, I'm ready to order a ZZ4 to replace the motor in my car..Scoggin-Dickey will get the order, they currently have the best price. I need to know what to watch out for? Hood clearance, I note the water pump on the ZZ4 is a long one, Will have to change. I hope every thing will fit? I have a stock 4 speed ( M-20) Don't know if it is a Muncie or Borg Warner? Do I need to change the Flywheel? I also see from the C-3 Stats that there are about 12 or so who have installed the ZZ4 in their cars? I do not see any in the 1976 model? I'll guess I'll be the first. I have been talking to Ken who has given me some insite, thanks Ken..Please keep the info flowing. I have stopped the body shop who is ready to paint to give me time to install the engine. Any help from you gents and I will be greatful. I would like to complete this project by summer, maybe meet you guys in October..Terry

Yes on the water pump and the flywheel...do have to change them both.
Everything else went in with no problem, in fact it was almost to easy.

OK Gents

It's a done deal, the engine is ordered, I went more not less, the addition of the hot cam Kit will increase it to 395 HP. Sallee-Chevrolet got the order Now that the money is spent I won't be able to sleep until I can drive the car..Three weeks until the engine will ship to Alaska, then the install....O'Boy

http://www.C3VR.com/member_uploads/6601_6700/6665/DSC01971.J PG OK the new ZZ4 engine has arrived. Now I can get some sleep. The car and the engine plus all the parts have been sent to the shop for install. Received the dyno tape in the mail, she gave 398 HP at 5650RPM, just what the doctor ordered for the old gal. The Alaskan project will soon be complete..Terry

I would like to but I have wife and three daughters in my life and they have three vehicles, my work car stays outside and the vette is in storage in the winter and outside in the summer, two are in college and my wife shops at NORSTOMS, I have no tools, need I say more? And my thirteen year old just got her black belt in Tae-Kwon-Do..The shop owner is a friend and I will live there most of the time, I say." yes mam", at my house most of the time.. Get the picture..I will still lead the installation and I will get dirty, but, I will change in their garage before I enter the house..O"Boy..Terry
