The only worry I have is the hood clearance
The '82 hood is thicker because it has the air passage for brining air from in front to the top of the air cleaner. Maybe I'll get lucky and the air cleaner will fit up into the opening (I can cut it bigger if needed) and use an air cleaner filter with an element on the top. I don't want to change out the hood. I'll let you know how it works out.

Dave are you doing the installation, and who did order the engine from.
What made you decide on a new engine. By the way I saw cookie at the
pearl river car show Sunday, I was hoping you whould show up. Are you
going to the garden state plaza corvette show in October
Geez, is this a belated birthday present?
Are you trashing the puter?
Gonna keep the motor for the next owner?
What kind of a carb will it have?
Do you have to take the Crossfire Injection signs off the sides?
Congrats on the purchase and good luck with the new power.

Wow another ZZ4 into a C3... Seems like these engines are become increasingly popular with the Shark crowd.
Hmmmnnnn, the ol' Crossfire and puter might make good standbuy's for a C3RVETTE owner.....

Hey Tony, I got the engine from a friend at Tri-Pro Automotive in S. Plainfield, NJ. They sell mostly sheet metal replacement parts for muscle cars & pick-ups, but they carry the GM Performance engines. He has a shop right in his building and I know him as well, great engine builder, worked for a pro NHRA drag racing team. So I don't even have to ship the engine anywhere.
Not sure about the Paramus show, i have some medical stuff going on so I can't say yet, I will try to make it.
