I've got a 69 Vert, Burgundy and black, new black top, new stainless brakes, 4 speed, PS, both tops, NOM, 108K miles that I'm giving some thought to selling. I'd like to move up to a 2002 vert that I've found. Couple of questions:
1). If you were me would you let go of a chrome bumper in good condition for the 2002?
2). What do you think I could get for the 69? I know that's subjective and based on a lot of factors, but some ball park estimate would be a starting point.
Thanks.

1.)No you'll want it back & it don't eat much.
2.)$14,000 + depending on how good good is.
Keep the 69 and buy the 02. You may struggle but you won't ever regret it!

1) In most every way, the '02 is a better car, but it's still on its way down in value. Your '69 is on its way up.
2) Too many variables to come up with a value without more info, but $12k-$20k would be a fair starting arena. There's lots of C5's out there for sale. C3's are increasing in value and though there's a lot out there, in fine shape they're more difficult to find.
I'm with the others...own both and after a while you'll know whether to keep or sell the '69.

Don't know much about values for the '69 but I'd say, Hell No !!!
Like Tux said, maybe a month, maybe a year, but you'll kick yourself in the butt when the prices on these Vettes skyrocket
and you'll want it back.

Keep the 69 and look a little longer for a 98 - 00 vert for less $$ than the 02.
I love the C5 in every way, access, ride, creature comforts, power and very decent mpg - up to 26-28 mpg at 70mph in 6th.
BUT - there's nothing as much fun to drive as that old C3.
If you want to blend in with everyone else, drive a C5. If you want everyone to go WOW, drive a C3.
Just more smiles per mile in the C3.

Dont sell the 69, if you do you will regret it and everybody will talk about you, The value of the 69 can range from 15k to 50k depending on the options, condition ect,,I have a 69 and I had much rather spend my time keeping her in good shape than a 2002, There are lots of 2002,s out there but 69 s are getting scarce.,, just my opinion,,rd

02's are a dime a dozen. Chrome bumper cars in good condition are slowly becoming if not already an endangered species. What you put into that car, you won't get back in resale and to buy something equivalent once the regret hit's you hard enough will probably cost you a fair amount more.

Then again, asking a question like this on a C3 website tends to give a bit of a biased response - wouldn't you say?!?!

You know, that's kind of what I've been thinking. I had a dealer let me drive a 2002 coupe for a day and it just didn't seem to have the "character factor" that the 69 has. Don't get me wrong the 02 was a very nice ride and very civilized and I was getting 27 MPG over the 200+miles I put on it. The radio wasn't very good and I was disappointed at how much noise made its way into the interior at speed. Looks like the consensus here is beginning to be keep the 69 and spring for the 02 if i just have to have it. Two things with that scenario: 1). Wife issues of having two Vettes and 2). only space enough in the garage for one vette and 2 motorcycles.
decisions, decsions............

There are a couple of options here:
1) Tell wife '02 Vette is hers, she won't have problem with it then;
2) Get rid of wife...no issues with two Vettes then (if you can afford any toys after expensive divorce);
3) Get rid of motorcycles;
4) Build bigger garage.
Problem solved!
