Vette(s): 1982 Collector Edition Almost all original Borla's and hollow cat.
Boy did you just hit the jackpot, I saw one for sale on a parts web site last year. And I think they still have it.

Here's the link. http://www.pacvette.com/specials/index.htm
3rd item from the bottom.

Don't faint when you see the price.

Let us know if you get it. |cheers|

Vette(s): Two 1982 Collector's Editions
Looks a bit Pricey, but if you want to play "the Collector's Edition Game" then go for it (look in the catalogs. Every part for a CE is about double in price for the same part for a regular 82).

The next time you are at Corvettes at Carlisle, stop by Area G of the Fun Display. That's where the Collector's Editions park (you may park there if you are registered to park in the fun display and did not specifically state "Collector Edition Registry" on the form).

Many there (the 82s) can feel your pain.

Other hard-to-find goodies:
The center hubcaps - A set was found on the wheels, $1150
Hood and trunk badges (one was found - They are different)
Original Spark Plug wires
Original T-top bags
If you repaint, ORIGINAL GM Stripes
Not so hard:
The shroud over the distributor - usually thrown away when spark plugs are changed (the two clips ON the shroud that hold the hood release ARE hard to find - no one makes reproductions).

I spent three days there and was determined (after many swap meets) to turn the place upside down.

It took many hours in the hot sun to find alot of CE parts I did not need, but eventually found everything. I just look at a car that original, then look at mine, and go hunt.

The best find was a part of the luggage straps that cinch them tight. This is a little knurled nut that can fall out. I did not know for five years how the system worked until I looked at a correct one. I found two sets of straps at location L-107 near Gate 7 (almost the far corner of the fairgrounds) for five dollars. This was the same guy who had the wheels and a CE seat in pretty good shape and a Hatch glass for $1500.

I found most of the stuff on Saturday and Sunday. But you are right. True die hards go out on Friday and scope it all out. Over at the registry parking area, they use radios and notes at the sign in table, and everybody helps each other look.

I didn't have any help. I had more fun doing it myself.

Do you need the whole cap or just the emblem?

I need both parts as mine has a silver horn button on it now which is wrong. The steering wheel is wrong too but I might get that for Christmas.I called pacvette for the ones they have and $350.00 supposedly new and $150.00 for one with nicks out of the leather.I'll keep looking before I pay that or wait till next years Carlisle event. |thumb|
