Hi All, I'm going in the morning to look at a low miles 75 that is in my price range.
Do any of you have or know where I can get a checklist to take with me. I printed the one from the corvette action center but I would like one more suited to the C3. Since this will be my first Corvette I really don't want to screw this one up.
Any help would be appreciated and wish me luck,
Mark

I wish we did.. perhaps we should make one up.. there are so many things to check.. and many of them depend on what youre looking for and what the car is advertised as, and on your automotive skill and judgement.
are you looking for an operational checklist or a restoration checklist ?
I propose we make up a c3vr operational checklist.. maybe start a thread.. everyone give some input.. (try to keep it from meandering) than have a few people create a list from the suggestions (maybe kstyer on drive train, aftershark on suspension/brakes, redwingvette on body, etc, etc.)
if we would have had one of these... maybe pigpen wouldnt have bought such a lemon.
I volunteer to format (compile info, organize and edit)it and create the pdf..
any takers..

excellent idea Ben, and I've got a lot of stuff that can be looked for easily that will give a warning of problems to come!

between you and pigpen (swwales) you could just about write the list yourselves..
we just need a nod from adam (cant be an official c3vr checklist without him)
and a few people to sign on for compiling suggestions into a list for various categories..
body,engine,trans&axle,interior,suspension/steering, vaccum, eletrical
Sorry I have a really indept check list that i got from a publiscationcalled, I think, how to purchase a used corvette 1968-1982. problem is i have no way of getting it on line, no scanner or ditagal carmera. the checklist is about four or five pages and covers everything pretty detailed. It is probably to late for you to benifit from but I'll try to figure out a way to post it here.

Wow! You guys are great. I'm leaving in a bit and I'll try to post questions if I have them when I get back. I think the official list is a great idea and I'll help in any way I can.
BTW 1BadLT1, I think I know the list you are talking about. Is it in a 68 - 82 restoration book? I think I remember seeing something like that a while back at the book store. I suppose I should be kicking myself for not buying it.

Ben offered to compile. I'll take him up on that. I offer to be tech editor.
Send either Ben or Myself anything you want to submit. It doesn't matter how small, it all helps.
I will create some new documents, and rework some old things I have. Let's get started. I am going to start a new thread for this purpose. You can post anything there or just forward it to Ben or myself. Any form will work. We'll convert it.
