Watch out for people bidding that have a zero rating! I would not accept any, as you'll never see the money and will be a waste of time. Other wise, it should be a good experience. I purchase things all the time (against my wife's wishes).

I sell things on ebay too. Block any bids from any AOL email users with 0 or low feedback ( lesss than 10) they are the only ones who have given me a problem they are bogus bidders who must have signed on with the damn free cd's AOL always has everywhere then disappeared when it runs out. otherwise all other transactions have been great and looking at Vettes there I have seen good prices , hope you set a reserve for the lowest you want to get

I have sold my old 86 silverado and my 87 corvette on ebay, I made deals with both of the initial bidders and sold the cars no problem.
I tried to sell my 2002 Z06 on ebay about 5 diferent times and had no real luck but the guy I sold it to had originally seen it on ebay and the first email was sent through the ebay system, while I didnt have a sale through ebay It did get me the advertisment I needed and the car sold.
Be very vigilante and answer any questions buyers email you with dont leave them hanging they will move on to another car! also keep a good eye on the auction and just like all ebay auctions the real fun is the last hour to the last second!
hope you sell it and if not dont give up on ebay even though sellers think they own a gold mine no matter what it is they are selling and buyers want to buy everything for pennies on the dollar!

Vette(s): Red 79 with Oyster leather interior. Has the spoiler package, and is overall in really nice driving shape. Hope to restore it to original over time, and since the mechanicals are good, should primarily involve things like trim, interior, etc.
I actually bought my vette via ebay, and had a great experience. I talked with the guy that sold it (via email) even before the bids were over. He had problems with some bidders who werent serious, and never payed when he listed the car previously, but all in all it worked well.
Fortuantely, I really wanted the car and sent him an email during the bid "cycle". That said, if bidders do send additional questions, or comments to you, then it increases the likelyhood that they are a serious buyer.
By the way, your car is georgeous, and you wont have any trouble selling it at all. Wish I had a few extra bucks right now! Id make you an offer!
Anyway, ditto on all the great comments so far.
And Good luck!!!

I use ebay all the time as a buyer and seller. I have had only a couple less than good deals. Just be careful of bidders with "Neutral or Negative" feedback. Neutral or Negative feedback is not done on a whim. If you have a bidder with neutral or negative feedback require additional email from them on their intentions. If they will not contact you they were most likely not that serious.
Good Luck

Hey Gang!
Thanks for the input! Just over two days left on the auction and the price has stalled at $3000. What a joke! Oh well to quote "Johnny" who was right on the money... "sellers think they own a gold mine no matter what it is they are selling and buyers want to buy everything for pennies on the dollar!"
Take care!

Vette(s): 1976 Brown with Buckskin Interior. I bought her on 9/15/03 and just received it on OCT 1st 2003!! It needs interior work, and some things under the hood, but I am so excited! Just waiting for Summer of 2004 to totally show it off.
I bought my corvette off of e-bay. My husband and I were new so that meant that we had a 0 feedback.
We e-mail the guy telling him we were new and we were interested in the car. After we exchanged phone numbers and such we talked about the car and my husband was happy. So we watched the auction and waited till the end I place my bid with-in the lst 2 minutes and it was mine. The rest is history. Give people with 0 feedback a chance - they are all not deadbeats.
I just wanted everyone to know that!!
