HORROR STORY!!!!!
I attempted my sons (17 yrs old) first car when he was ready to move up, I was a 95 Hyundai Accent.... I will resume my story when you quit snickering.....
Anyway, I listed the thing on Ebay and very mistakenly used "BUY IT NOW". DO NOT use buy it now with cars heres why, it was only listed for about one day and some kid from Miami bought it, this ended the auction and ended the bidding for real buyers. The kid had actually "bought" 7 cars that night never intending to actually pay for them.
I was charged by ebay for my listing fee and for the final value fee. The transaction cost me about 100.00 at this point and I still had the stupid car. Ebay did finally (about 2 months) refund my listing fee.
Get this- in order for you to get nay refunds from ebay for a blown sale you haver to repeatedly send the butt-head bidder messages asking for your money even though he tells you he has no intention of paying you.
Ebay is great for little stuff but DO-NOT waste your money on car sales!!!!

I bought my corvette off of e-bay and really did not have any problems.(72 LS5) I called and asked several questions and even flew out to AZ to look at it. I would not recommend buying a car without looking at it first. My first experience with buying a car off of e-bay was horrible. I wanted to buy this cougar and the pictures looked great, the car was shiny and the guy told me the car was in perfect condition. Wrong, it was a pile of rust and the interior was terribly although it looked good in the photos. The moral of the story is that Digital cameras can just about make any car look good, so it is best to inspect the car yourself, before you spend anywhere from 15K to 45k and upwards. Money is hard to come by. Jimmie

Vette(s): 1978 INDY PACE CAR-ALL ORIGINAL 2277 DOCUMENTED MILES
I bought my 78 Corvette Pace Car (2282 miles) off of e-bay and did not have any problems. I was the high bidder but didn't meet the reserve. Then I got an e-mail saying that the reserve was $1000 more than I bid but he would take my bid. I got the car for $4000 less than he paid for it. It came with a huge binder full of documentation on the car. I got the car in July of 02. The only problem with it since I had it was the water pump went bad.........

Vette(s): My son and I buy, sell, and restore Corvettes. Specializing in C3's. We've owned/restored nearly 100 Vettes.
I've sold LOTS of Vettes on Ebay, Its the best tool to buy/sell rare cars in your easychair. FOR BUYERS- look at the sellers feedback, pay attention to the ad- is he telling you anything about the car relevant? ABOVE ALL-ASK QUESTIONS! Don't wonder, ASK! If they don't asnwer you in some way, you shouldn't bid on the car. Is their talk about the car opinionated, generalized- i.e Usual stress cracks. OK interior, motor runs, etc. or descriptive+specific. Did they go out of their way to take good pictures? FOR SELLERS- TAKE PHOTOS!! CLOSE-up Photos. Its better to lay everything on the table- show+tell the flaws to avoid a bad Ebay experience. If a 0 feedback jumps on top, I don't sweat it- I'll email them to make certain they are legit. Or you can post that 0 feedback must email before bidding. Many folks have registered with Ebay just to buy one of my Vettes. Make it clear that people sould bid to buy, not to inspect. People expect flaws from old cars unless they've been sealed in a jar forever, so be honest. Thank you, thank you very much- Ebays robelvisstreet
