Hey folks, I need to unload a few parts.
When I acquired the BBC, I got a new looking ALUMINUM INTAKE. Code is 3919849, which should be for a 1968 427 / 390. Book says it is for the SQUARE port, LO-RISE, QuadraJet set up.
There is no sheet metal cover on the underside (whateveryoucallthatthang).
I don't have a 427, so my loss is your gain. Anyone need one? PM me if you do and we'll talk.
I'm confused. The 390 horse has oval ports. BTW, the square port intake will fit on an oval port head, oval port intakes will not work with square port heads.
it will work but not optimally!!!
the intake flow is alot more turbulent..
I read an article about this killing your volumetric efficiency some time ago.

Allow me to post a CORRECTION to my original post (now that I'm not on anything!!!)
The ports are OVAL (not square) like David said. Fits the L-36 motor. Hope that clears up any confusion. Didn't for me.
