I recently had my '71 in for some work on the vac system. The mechanic found that one of my vacuum overrides was bad and pulled it out. He just attached the two hoses together. I ordered a new pulldown switch. New pulldowns do not come with the rubber manifold that the hoses with the brass fittings go into. Does anyone have one of these. I cannot find anyone so far that sells them. I know I can put this back together without it but I would like to hook it up right! HELP!
Thanks

"Rubber hoses with the brass fittings"?!? Got a pic of what you're talking about? This doesn't ring any bells with me.(even tho I hear ringing all the time in me ear-balls!
)
The two pull down switches just connect to the rubber hoses...I'm not familiar with any brass fittings down there...a pic would help...I think.

Here's a link to a picture of the vacuum connection I think your asking about. http://www.c3vr.com/member_uploads/4301_4400/4322/vac%20manifold.jpg a right angled connection, hoses to the switch. I dont believe they are manufactured.
That is the ones. I don't know if anyone is making these anymore. So far I have only checked with MidAmerica and C-Central. I was hoping someone might have one in a box of old parts. 71Shark 2006-11-03 12:38:33

Corvette Central has them for $20.00. I just bought 2 of them.

So you're looking for the "L" shaped, rubber "manifolds", yes? Those might be a problem. What happend to your old one(s)? I assume the car had them when the guy worked on it, or not?
The system will work without them, but I understand you want to keep it "correct". Might try a 'Vette boneyard, or contact PARAGON, as they have an extensive NOS/used parts department, as well as a "Vintage" store.

They were there and probably thrown out with the bad pulldown. The part from C-Central is the pulldown only, W/O the manifold. I will check with Paragon or some of the other places that specialize more in true restoration.
Thanks!
