I have not been able to tune the 625 Road Demon where I want it. So I just ordered a 1405 Edelbrock, should be here soon. Looks like I will have the Road Demon for sale soon. Let me know if anyone is intrested. | |biggrin|

I could not tune out an off the line bog. The carb is in great shape and I have never had it apart. I'm not sure what spread bore means. It is the Barry Grant Road Demon 625cfm Vac secondaries sight glass float level. Polished aluminium. Ported carb with no choke.

Have you decided how much you want for it? My next project is a street rod, a Demon would look wicked on it.

I just spoke to a guy this morning on the west coast that was having idle issues with a King Demon on a dyno. They called Demon and they couldn't tell him anything. All they said is it should work. He was slighly upset to say the least. I think he was at the point you are trying to get rid of the bog.

i think they have a new revision base plate with an air bleed that might help this.

also.. you might reduce the size of the primary jets.

You are right about the idle adjustment plate, is offerd on the larger carbs. It can be purchased for the Road Demon. It allows you to go through the threaded air filter mounting hole with a screw driver and adjust the idle. I will be installing the Edelbrock this week end and let you all know how it goes. For the price on the Road Demon it will be less than $200.00 (not much less) Let me find out how the Edelbrock works first. |cheers|

Keep in mind, most carbs are set up too rich. Rich conditons won't damage engines. Lean could. To negate liability, the carb mfgs usually go too rich when they put the carb in the box.

I'm not sure if this would work for your setup, just asking.

This is for anyone interested -I have a new Holley 650dp (4777s) and a used but good Holley 750 vac sec (3310)I'd like to trade for something in the range of 600-650 with vac secondaries.

I'd also be interested in just buying your road demon if someone else doesn't and you're not going to use it.
