I agree with those who have said the car would definitely NOT be worth $30k cdn. My LT-1 is just about worth that much and it is an original car with 78,000 original miles. The interior looks to be the optional leather with the built-in shoulder safety straps, so that's a plus. In general it seems nice (from the pictures), except the engine bay looks like the poor thing's been rode hard, and put away wet! It's worth the $9.5k US.
Yep, if it has the original engine. There is an approx.1" x 3-1/2" flat pad just in front of the psgr. side cylinder head. The number on that should match the last digits of the VIN.
The engine block in my '78 when I got it was from a 1973 passenger car.

I am just reading this post Sunday the 11th. I wish I had read it earlier in the week. If you are like me when I went to look at my Vette you will get all excited and you may forget to look at all the things that you should before settling on a deal. My recommendations (and I hope I am not to late) are to make up a check lists of things to check out. Start with crawling under the frame. Take a jack with you. take a mirror and small ballpean hammer to tap on the frame. make sure the trailing arms are solid. Check around the gas tank for rust and rot. Check the front end for play on ball joints and control arms. Look at the floor board panels. These are the most hidden areas that can cause serious problems that most of us cant fix ourselves. After that check all the lights and make sure they all work. You want to know if Baba has been working on this cars electrical. Does the heater fan work, interior dash lights, do the headlights go up and down correctly. Do the wipers work. I spent 3 nights making up a check list of things to check. Once I got there I spent the first 1/2 hour checking over the car. My seller had no problem with me doing this and if he had I may not haev bought it. You want to be certain this is what you relaly want to invest into. Like I said, I hop e I am not to late to give you thoughts and ideas. Good luck .

Yeah Rod.... That's exactly the stuff I didn't do when I bought the mutt.... real pretty body though......
Red Lion, huh! We are a distributor for Red lion Controls, now moved over to York. Harry Cordes and Luther Brown started the outfit in Harry's Red Lion,PA garage in 1972. Harry and Luther were a couple of Fenner geeks. They are an international outfit now......
Only a nerd would know that.....
