I'm looking for a new rear defroster switch for a 78. If anyone has one wishing to sell or knows where I can purchase one please let me know. I checked with Zip, Corvette America, Eckler's and Corvette Central.

Try Mid America as well. Another option is to go to a Chevy dealership and check with their parts department. While it's likely a discontinued part, all dealers are tied in to one another by computer and they can tell if another dealership somewhere still has the switch sitting on their shelf.
Several years ago I had to replace the a/c kickup solenoid on my '78. The part was long discontinued. The local dealer did the computer inventory check and gave me a printout with a number of Chevy dealers all over the country that had it in stock. I called one of the dealers and they had two on the shelf. The list price was over $90 each and the parts manager sold both to me for $20 each just to get them out of his inventory.
This kind of search does work sometimes. Give it a try and maybe you'll find one the same way.

When I went looking for a new rear defroster switch for my '78 I was laughed at by everyone, Corvette America, Ecklers, Mid America, Vansteel, Local Part Stores, and Dealerships. They told me they were outta production many years ago and no one reproduces them.

Well I did finally find a new NOS in the box switch, where? Where else but eBay

Here you go Rear Defroster Switch they are rare and by no means cheap, I think I paid more then $50 for mine, good luck.

Mike,
You can list each part separately here. That way you will get better visibility and someone who is in the market for one will find it easier.
