Hi there Vette Fans!
Here are some extras after doing an engine and exhaust swap on my 79 L48.
The original engine was sold via ebay, the guy gave a deposit and then dropped off the face of the earth (no, I didn't let him take the motor
). So after a few more attempts, the motor will also be up for sale. It's an original L48 ser # 3970010 - 4 bolt main. Engine came out of the car running, no smoke, knocking, etc - just a 95K engine that could use a good home. Engine was sold complete with original dist, qjet, air cleaner, heads, balancer, intake, CC diaphram and starter - oil pan was taken cause I needed it for clearance on the new mouse in the house. So stay tuned - this could be going up for sale soon.
Here's what I do have for sale:
Q jet carb w/electric choke great condition - was on the motor recenltly rebuilt(not the original carb) - $85
Cat Conv heat shield has on small slice from a pair of tin snips - still very serviceable - $20
Left and right side exhaust manifolds and heat riser - Left side has a stud mis-drilled - may not be salvage-able but for the price....heavy - expensive to ship) - $20
Original torque converter (it's fine - I put in a hi-stall converter) pick up only due to chemical restrictions in shipping - $20
Original AM/FM Radio - as is - never tried it as it came in a box when I bought the car - it's clean and looks fine - $25
Alsmost new fuel pump w/ hard line - single inlet, single outlet - not for 79 - early model SBC - $15
All prices are OBO
I also have a bunch of military surplus stuff I want to get rid of if anyone is interested. Send me a PM.
If you live near the south central Jersey area, I'll drive a bit to meet you to deliver parts - I'm in Howell Township.
Thaks for lookin!

you might want to keep the original engine if you have a place to store it...
if the vin matches.. if you sell it to someone who wants to restore it.. there is only one original vin matching engine fo your car..
that being said.. if you dont get any bites on the quadrajunk at 85$ i might be interested for less..

Hey Gribble123,
You're in luck. 1 M1A1 left, however, you'll have to arrange for shipping and get a tanker bar to reconnect the track. I actually manned the M2 in the CAV for 16 years. What an awesome weapon! I still have my own headspace and timing guages. And as luck would have it - they were very handy to have................in IRAQ!!
Anyway, I have spare uniforms, sleeping bags, goretex stuff, cold weather stuff, etc that I've accumulated from over 21 years of service. I'm retiring before Uncle Sam sends me on my third vacation (already saw the Storm and OEF/OIF) and I no longer need this stuff.

I additionally have a brand new set of aluminized 2 1/2" exhaust pipes (from the crossmember cutouts to where they meet the mufflers). Custom bent to 74 specs. Fit my 79 with no problems.
Wound up with a spare set - long story - $75 - prefer a local sale - heavy and difficult to ship.
