Topic: The things people try to sell
in Forum: C3 For Sale/Wanted Archive

The only thing I see wrong with this car is that the nose is crunched. If you look at pic #2, you can see a gap in the bottom center. Then the car cover pic covers this area in the close-up.
I remember seeing the can-am stuff on vettes that ran at Hallett Motor Speedway in the late '70's. Man, they looked tough and were stout runners.
I guess it's all about what turns your crank!
Don't let em get you down, Dave. If we were all alike, it sure would be boring.
I like both of your cars, and would love the chance to see the Nomad. It looks hot and I'll bet it looks better in person.
You're right, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and to me your vette is beautiful. I can appreciate the Daytona vette for what it is, but it's not for me. I can imagine how difficult it must be to drive it, judging from the cracked front end. I don't think it would be able to take a speed bump at all.
So don't stay away from any events. All vettes are accepted here, period. I for one would like to see your car in person one day. I can't make the gathering this year, but I will be at the midwest event next year. Maybe I'll see you there.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What he has is a Daytona front end with an can-am kit on it, a twin turbo hood and the typical squared headlights, and the fender vents are still sold now. All done properly, with good body work. The only flaw i can see justified here is that he does need wider tires in the rear to fill up the body panels. By the way, I have the fender vents, front end and headlights all on Cherry Love, my pride and joy red Vette.. And, in the spirit of the 70's, I also have a black and red interior, as this car does, but mine is in Velvet..
If you recall, back in the 70's, the hot thing to do with these c3's was to cut them up, or put on body kits, not leave them stock. This is a fine example of what was popular in its day, as my red Vette is.
I have been quietly "phased out" of a local Vette club due to having the Eckler’s Nomad wagon kit on it, been insulted on here and another Vette club about its looks. It takes work to be an individual, to have a car that stands out from the rest. Anybody can replace the parts with the same thing to restore a car, and there were several thousand of most C3's out there, all looking the same, just different color
Personally, if my wife would allow another Vette, i would buy one of these Can Am cars. But, with the responses here, anybody having questions can see why i will not be driving Cherry Love to the C3VR meets, this year or any other. Funny, when ever I drive Cherry, I get A LOT of praises, and the insults always come from the same group: C3 owners whose corvettes look like all the rest, no originality.
Hold on thar partner... I' like it too. Since when did being differnt become a crime? I respect the opinions of others. I am also reserved to enjoy my own. Kinda like tryin ta define the word NORMAL...(compared to what???

BTW, anybody catch the crack in the front lower air dam? It is barely visible in pic #2 and covered by the car cover in the pic of straight on close up w/cover strategically placed.

To each his own. Far out and way too much for me though (both visiually and financially!!!)
