Mick, The present owner has bought the car to restore, he has never driven it. He tells me it runs ok. I don't know for sure if it's a Nv. car. The situation with the rear is: the axle stubbs seat against the pin that holds the spyder gears in. The axle stubbs wear against it and unload the posi clutches, causing a snapping noise in the diff. I had the same problem with the diff in my '79 and rebuilt it. You can get an exchange rear for about 3 hundred. Pain in the a** to change the rear, but not overly technical job. It's an automatic. The guy sounds kinda firm on the price, it's been sitting for a while in the same spot. I can take some digital pics if I can get my older dig camera software to download in this new computer. The camera worked on MS 2k, but this has XP in it and may be able to down load in the photo program. I told my wife I was half thinkin about buyin it my self and using the parts from my '79 to repair it, she gave me a dirty look. I would like an anniversery edition vette.
Greypoupon69 I have a 78 I will sell: good paint blue/black saphire (saturn color), new red leather interior-new door panels, floor, even the sun visors are new. air replaced a little over a year ago.new trailing arms, shocks, stainless steel brake system including new e-brake shoes, am/fm cd in dash (looks original) and power ant. It has a four speed at present but by the time you read this it will have a new kaiser 5 speed as well as new 11 clutch, pressure plate pilot and throw out, new lower shift boot and new clutch fork cover. Engine is not exactly stock and I found a valve cover leak on the passenger side last night (while I was removing the headers that will be replaced with new ceramic coated flowmaster headers and complete new exhaust, it also has a completely new rear end within the last year (changed for beter gas milage didn't help much though. I live in Biloxi, Ms and no the vette was not damaged in Katrina my wife messed up the front fender before the storm so the Vette was in northern territory.
