This listing is primary for a STRAIGHT OUT, ONE FOR ONE TRADE, FOR A 1974 OR 1975 CORVETTE CONVERTIBLE!!!
With the convincing of my girlfriend, I (we) offer our 1982 Corvette Collectors Edition in the hopes of a trade for a 1974 or 1975 Corvette Convertible. She would like to share the same feel of a convertible as I do by having her own as we travel to car shows with my 2006 Victory Red convertible. We already have a 1982 Silver coupe that is extremely close to a full frame on restoration, so it makes sense we get her a convertible, and a vehicle, that is other than a 1982 MY. She is stuck on the C3 generation for her choice and thats where we decided that a 1974/1975 firmly fits our needs. The mileage is 47,500 (+). I rather agree with her. Again, it MUST BE a CONVERTIBLE!!
In the time we've owned it, I've begun the repair and replacement process. What follows is a list of what care has gone into the car to this point.
Removed and replaced all shocks: $239.00
Removed and replaced alternator: $95.00
In one repair session, removed and/or replaced in and around the engine: thermostat, gaskets, spark plug wires, TPS sensor, O2 sensor. Then going into the interior, repairs have been made to: adjusted detent cable for the rear hatch (which opens), removed and replaced steering column, repair drivers' power seat control switch. Under the vehicle, repairs were made to: steering cylinder and automatic shifter. The headlight actuators were also resealed. Both side view mirrors were also brought back to operational condition. All of these repairs totaled at least $990.00.
Removed and replaced the rear hatch struts with a better set. $50

Complete flush and refill of brake system: $109.00
Removed and/or replaced: both mufflers, leather steering wheel, electric mirror switch, rear hatch cable system, and repairs of left hand door lock and outside handle: $1074.00
Two new center wheel caps: $250.00

Removed and replaced both T-Top seals. $250.00
The electric door locks and cruise control are still inoperative at this time. As I go along, these items will eventually see repair.
So, for a little over $2500.00 invested in the repair or replacement work/cost/materials to this point, we know this vehicle to be truely reliable. We still take this car to shows as well. It even gathers compliments!

Vette-n-Vestment guides and other Corvette sources list this car as an AVERAGE car, and I agree with that selective reasoning. So, its in the interest of my research of the 82 CE, with the expenditures up to this point, I view this Corvette somewhere in the neighborhood of being, and representing, a $14,000 vehicle. Of course, you're the final word on that. Its always subjective. I think if you have the 1974 or 1975 Corvette Covertible we're looking for in the same price range, and a vehicle closely resembling the description such as ours, I'm sure we could come within a $1000 or so to make such a deal/trade. We both already know we would be getting eventual collectibles.
As you can tell, I was on my way into making this car mechanically sound. I even switched the motor oil to Durablend...making the synthetic/real oil blend a benefit to a car of this age.
The interior is about a 75% interior. Its not show case, but you will not be embarassed to drive it by any means. Same goes for the exterior paint. It will need paint eventually. I was, and still, proud to drive this vehicle anywhere...even in its restorative look. I bought this car for the quantity of its low mileage first and foremost..condition and quality of its interior and exterior was secondary to me at that time...still is. For me, its mechanics first...without that the rest does not matter.
You are wlecomed to visit this vehicle any time in Titusville, Florida. My home phone is 321-267-6975 in the evenings. During the day, at work, 321-861-0679. Leave a message if/when qued.

That is your garage??!!! Wow.
Can't blame the girl for wanting a mid-70's 'Vert!! Good Luck!
I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!
Well...isn't this add for my 82 CE dated!!??

Since then I've traded the 82CE for a 2002 Harley Davidson Heritage Classic Springer from a guy in Illinois. It was an even trade with the only money being spent transporting each vehicle to one another. Come April of 2009, I will have had the bike for a year!
I still have the Silver 82 and the Victory Red 06.
