I am VERY interested in a Tri-power set up for my 69, however until i can find the right deal i am looking for a plain jane low rise intake for a 427 (must be able to fit under my hood). If anyone has either of these please get in touch.

I see them on Ebay very regularly...they do tend to go for big bucks. Holley still makes the tri-power carburetors brand new, so you're not stuck paying big dollars for original dated carbs that need restored.
When you find one, make sure you know whether your heads are oval port or rectangular port. The 427/435 used rectangular ports, the 390/400 used oval port.
Just trying to save you some grief if the wrong intake becomes available.

Thx gunslinger!
I am bidding on a few from e-bay (they are big bucks). Thx a bunch for the info on the carbs, that will save me some cheddar! Any idea who i can order them from?

Holley still marks them with the same numbers as back in the sixties, so you should be able to get them through Summit Racing or Jeg's. Compare their prices. Maybe Holley will sell them direct, you can ask them, but their retail is likely higher than what Summit or Jeg's might do for you.
What you might do is contact Holley and see if they have the entire carb package...carbs, linkages, fuel lines and hook-ups, etc. If they do, you can get everything at once and not get nickeled and dimed to death trying to run around finding it all. That way once you have an intake you're ready to install it all.

I have a 69 427 aluminum intake on mine. I would be interested in selling. I believe it is the 390 hp intake. It fits under my 74's stock hood, so i'm sure it would fit under yours. Let me know if you're interested.

Thx BBB, i will keep that in mind.
UPDATE: I have a tri-power manifold i think i can get to my door for $450.00. It has had the #s shaved off and has had a repair however the fellow assures me it is in full working order. Now from what i have seen of these this maybe the best deal i have been offered so far. Any opinons out there?

It's a little high priced for having a repair and the numbers missing. A nice one runs about $650 to $750 on average. This is a good unit to buy if you don't care about matching numbers, etc. but if you're trying to make the car original, I'd pass. I sold an early 1968 435hp intake for $600 last month and the only thing wrong with it was it needed one helicoil.

Hmmmmmm! makes me wonder if anyone here might have the clevis for the tripower linkage. Mine was so bad it couldn't be re-used.
I got my carbs restored at AED Performance, they did an excellent job on all 3 for less than the price of 1 carb!

zip used to sell the correct linkage ----i got mine several years ago----------dont buy a repaired intake with missing #s unless its dirt cheap and you know that it fits for sure-----buy the good one because it wont drop in value and you could get your money back out of it if you had to sell it later (those #s are worth money to resto folks)-------marty
