Vette(s): 3.) 1970 Corvette LS-5 convertible, current 2.) 1970 Corvette convertible, burned. 1.) 1978 Corvette Silver, sold.
Try eBay and go to swap meets and Corvette shows. If you're looking for a factory big block and you're not sure if the Corvette was originally equipped with one learn what to look for to be sure you get a true big block car. I got both of my 1970 Corvettes from swap meets. The first was a well equipped, numbers matching 350/300 convertible needing TLC and I paid $9500 and put $5000 into it. The second one I bought at a swap meet and currently own is a well equipped '70 LS-5 convertible but not with its original 454 engine. I paid $15K and still spending. But it is worth it. I love those chrome bumpered C-3s.
All of this is to give you an idea of what to expect.

Scott

Scott,
Thanks for the advice, I have been looking for 3-4 months now and have a good handle on what to look for and check out. I am going to Corvette Carlisle to watch the auction/swap meet for values. I have not found anything via internet or swap sheets that I am interested in yet so I posted here. Something will turn up before winter strikes. If not I will keep looking and learning. |cheers|
