Are you looking for an original points distributor or electronic with tach drive? The resto houses carry new points distributors and Summit Racing carries high performance points type and electronic with tach drive. Either way you're looking at $300 and up.
If you have your original distributor it can be rebuilt. If you're looking for used, check Ebay and some of the Corvette parts distributors like Dynamic Corvettes or Corvettes parts and distributors. Both are on-line.

I am looking for anything that will have a tach drive. I will even rebuild it if it needs it. I bought my car a couple of months ago and it came with a non tach drive in it. If I can find an original style I will put the petronix II in it and if I can find a performance one then that would be what I would go for. Pretty much anything with a tach drive for a reasonable price.

If you're trying to keep costs down, keep an eye on Ebay or go to swap meets for one and install the Pertronics. I've never used a Pertronics but have heard many good things about them.
A new tach drive distributor...whether points type or electronic is likely to run $300-$400 at minimum.

I have a couple of Mallory tach drive distributors. One has the unilite conversion and was run maybe a thousand miles and looks like new - the other is a dual point and came w/ the LS-5 I recently purchased.
Have rebuilt many a GM tach drive-but by the time you buy a used one on EBay ( ~$65+ and add shipping), Then rebuild it w/ new shaft and gear (another $65+) assuming that is all thats worn out....The Mallory w/ grease fitting, from what I have seen doesn't break or wear out.
On one of my mid years I am running the Petronix II on the original GM distributor and did have it go down when I was in Nashville for the 50th anniversary this past summer-ALWAYS carry a spare set of points now!!
Let me know if interested-
