Well, Vettes are exotic. I think they are even exotic to those who drive much more expensive cars like P**%%& and F%$&^^($. Why do they consider them exotic....you mean beside the fact they usually get their butt kicked by Vettes? Mainly the price difference !
So much bang for the buck, they just have to consider them exotic. (Yes I know, exotic does not really mean that, but it sounds good ).

Not sure I understand what you're looking (were looking?) for.... I have the original AM/FM Stereo radio. A photo of it removed from the car is on my webpage at the very bottom:

The convector is attached to the main unit with a very thick cable. They're not attached via connectors (externally anyways). The convector is bolted under the dash to 2 holes which I think are in the birdcage on all cars (not just U79) cars. You can probably see more from the other pics in my heater core photos above.
BTW I bought one of those '$70 portable CD players which broadcasts on FM and I can listed to CDs with my stock radio.

Vette(s): 1979 Black coupe. 11256 original, documented, miles on it when I bought it in April of 2000. It now has 13100 on it. Oyster interior, like new. Everything original, everything works, except the clock. Paint has a couple of minor flaws.

Those are some great pics of the heater core removal. looks easy there, but I know it isn't..
