Larry maybe you and John can work out a trade deal. since he has a auto vert this might suffice for an occasional quick temporary fix.

It could put a few bucks in your pocket, Save The Wave, and maybe hold you over until surgery has been done. Oh and did I mention it is RED?

Just a thought.....

Sorry to hear the news Larry. I have back problems that come and go so I know all to well what is like to sit i a vette for extended periods. Your vette is in great shape and should sell fast. May be you could get a C5 that would be more comfortable with some of the money you get from the LT1. Will be praying for you.
Yes you are still welcome to any of the NW activities as far as I am concerned. Just think spring wine tour.

Very sorry to hear this.

You are part of the family, no matter what you drive.
Perhaps a C3 automatic is in your future?

Vette(s): 1972 conv., sunfire yellow, blk interior, blk vinyl and convertible top. Off frame restoration with American Speed 383 stroker engine producing 500hp plus a 200hp NOS system. MSD ignition. Hooker super competition headers with chambered exhaust.
Larry, take it from someone who has been  in your same situation, did exactly what you're thinking of doing, and has regretted it every day since.

I had owned corvettes before but had always wanted a '62. Two years after getting my favorite corvette, I started losing sensation in both my legs and it progressed to the point that I just couldn't handle the 4 speed tranny any longer. If at all possible, keep the car and change it over to an automatic transmission.

Whatever your decision, I wish you the best .

Texas sized BUMMER Larry! Really sorry to hear about your back. Hopefully the doc can put it back right for you.
Also sorry to hear that you're selling the Vette. I'm with rearn2go72 on this one, anyway possible, try to keep it. Once it's gone, it'll be hard to ever replace.  Besides, I ain't never got to see it!   And... ya ain't old and ya ain't broken, it's jus a flesh wound, it'll get better. We're all rootin fer ya! Sorry to hear about your delema. I faced the same issues in my 77, the 3 things that helped was auto trans, later model seats (I put in 80-82 seats with an extra piece of foam at the lower back area), and most helpfull cruise control. The cruise will let me move the legs around to get the feeling back in the leg.You cant leave the group, Kathy and I are looking forward to this years Barby. Prayers coming your way.

Sorry to hear that Larry. I do understand having to make a change though. You will miss it, but there are others out there which will be easier for you to drive. Good luck.

I thought I would let you all know Larry's car has a new home.
The good thing is it isnt far from the old one.
Really it was a tough deal as I could tell it was hard for him to part with it and I sure wasnt looking to buy another car at the present moment.

But we came to a agreed price that was fair to both of us and if I shall be poor someday at least I will have a 1970 LT-1 to drive to the freeway exit with my cardboard sign that says "anything helps!"

It may take a few weeks, months or years but I have hope that my wife will see the beauty of having 2 red convertible Corvettes.

I can dream cant I?

And yes I told Larry he can drive it anytime.
