Topic: 68-72 big block wanted to buy...do you know anyone who will sell?
in Forum: C3 For Sale/Wanted (cars only)

Well you know I'm a believer all thing happen for a reason.....Here is a story for you....
Last year our local club goes to a cruise out into a country small town at an old time soda fountain. I park next to another C3 vette I had never seen before. Pull out my chair and we start talking about their car. 71 or 72 big block t-top emerald green tan interior. Nice repaint base coat /clear coat. They told me how they had looked at maybe 10 vettes and found things like what happened to you. They are retired folks, I think it's a stick car not sure....I fell in love with the car just knowing the raw power in that car

I sorry to hear that. You know not everybody is a crook here in the US. Well, maybe that does not apply to Rhode Island. Anyway I'll keep an eye out here in the South West. Nice dry conditions here but, usually lots of miles.
Good Luck,
Keith

I will ask a couple of people that may know something. I want to check out this Corvette dealer in town he has good recommendations from some friends of mine that have dealt with him. I want to get down and look as some of the machines he has. I will get back with you sometime this Monday and let you know if he has anything.
By the way you cannot ask Ebo to go to Australia by himself.

Thanks guys. Yeah it pays to be careful - and I have been, had a inspection done (if anyone wants a guy who knows what he is doing go to www.autoappraise.com) but still these dealers are trying to fool me. Hopefully ill have it sorted soon.
ebo - talk about the gods lookin down on me! thats very good to hear..if you come across their details I'd love to check out this vette. I will say though that it needs to be a 4 speed - if it is, im definately interested and would like to investigate it further! Let me know - i can email you my email address to pic's .
Now this down under talk, boys. I am getting a strong feeling that you both need a holiday?! lol. Winter here at the moment, but from Septmeber onwards the weather is magic. Im sure you'd be able to fit in the space behind the seats in the C3? 6 week boat trip will do you the world of good!
I have a '71 Big block, but it is a convertible with a hard top. It is freshly restored, numbers matching, LS5 with 4 speed and power steering. Everything except the little detail things is correct. I am asking $45,000 but am somewhat negotiable. There are other C3VR members who have seen it and would probably be willing to give it a more detailed inspection for you.
Email me a Larry@CorvetteSpecialties.com if you are interested.
