Barry, I have a friend that is talking about getting a vette and I will show this one to him. I cant promise anything but I will do what I can to help you. I agree with the rest of this C3VR family that it would be great if you could keep the car. As a father I sure hope that my kids keep both of mine and drive them and enjoy them! best of luck and our hearts go out to your father and family.
Barry pictures are nice, good job. You will need some closeups under the hood.
Sorry to hear about your dad. I hope you do have an opportunity to hang on to the car, but as ebo mentioned, you need some really clean engine shots showing that bright colored wiring, clean engine paint, etc. That will support a higher end price for your car.
Best of luck!

Vette(s): 1978 Indy Pace Car. All original. A true survivor. 2nd owner Only 300 miles.
I too am sorry to hear about your dad. The Mrs and I went through that last year losing her dad to that horrible disease. It's tough time of year to be selling a Vette, but due take the time to detail the heck out of it. Price wise I think your right in the ball park. Of course if you can possibly keep it do so!

Kenton
Barry, check one more thing......look between the tread on the tires chances are if it has been sitting they will be dry rotted / cracked. My originals looked brand new until you check them really close. If they are dried out get them off. Do not throw them away as they have high value if you ever want to show the car.

The last thing you want to do is drive that car and have a tire blow out. Tires are a heck of a lot cheaper than shattered fiberglass.

Sorry to hear about your Dad. If you can, try to keep the car for yourself.
I have to agree with some of the other comments here. Get more close up pics of the car and detail the heck out of it.
I have to agree with "ebo." The starting price is a bit steep for an '81, unless it is in absolute show condition. Most of the rubber bumper vettes just don't command high selling prices. Heck I have over $30k into my '81 and it wins awards but I'd be lucky to get $15k for it out on the market. But like Dan said, don't take anything under $10k if you really have to sell it.

Clint, nice find that for sure will give him a comparison. Maybe it's me but when you put so much work into a Vette then go low buck on the tires. I like cooper and have run them on some every day driver's but a vette needs a tire with a racing DNA. Even if they are 30 bucks more each...that is what connects your vette to the ground.
Even this white one needs much more work under the hood, like a $5 can of alt. gray and get that reconditioner flat black off of the brake booster. Any time I see a reconditioned car with the whole under hood sprayed over in that flat black I feel it was wrecked and they are overcoating to hide something. You want top buck do it the right way.
