Neato!
Rumor has it that this car was actually sold last year for around $275,000....maybe this guy has his dates wrong or sumptin. It's a nice piece of history, in several areas. It'll prolly wind up at Terry's place in Ohio(Pro-Team).
MY dates are wrong...the story I read actually said the car was up for auction 10 years ago...not last year...my bad. Don't know if the story is true or not...thass why I prefaced it with "Rumor has it".

Chump change...it will be in my garage by the end of the month.
Now...that will happen when I walk on the moon!
Bruce, it would look good between the Vette and the Avanti's

Here's a link to an online article about the Vette:
I hope that somewhere my '67 is looking better than Mr Armstrong's!

Vette(s): 1982 C3 Collectors Edition 44000 miles, sat in the sun most of its life, My wife purchased it for me for Father's Day in 2007 from her girlfriend that had it for 19 years. It is on the road again. I'm retired but it is now my daily driver.
For a number of years all of the astronauts got corvettes. This is a link to the story of the really smart move as he sold them a year later for more than they were worth because of who had owned them.
I want to know where one of the black and gold one is.

Low miles (was only 8,900 when I bought it in March 2006) - Now 54K miles. Original owner bought it as an investment for son's college expenses.
2008 Jetstream Blue Convertible
Jim Rathman was a Chevy dealer in Florida. He was (the?) one who got the tradition started of getting Corvettes to the astronauts.

I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!
