Vette(s): 1971 383 Stroker- mille miglia red...5 speed
[QUOTE=dsireme]Oh so pretty!!!! So you had to sell it... is that why she is your ex now???

I would rather not buy a Vette than get one that is automatic. I will not drive a sports car that is not manual. If my mini van could be manual, it would be. But thank you for being concerned. I am lucky that my Fibro isn't sever like a lot of others, I still function normally, I just am in pain all the time. You get use to it after a while.
As for the person that said don't be in a hurry... ummm you don't know me very well. I am an impulse buyer. If I fall in love with something, that's it. I will try my hardest though to be as logical about it as I can. I have a copy of Richard Prince's C3 Buying Guide on reserve at St Charle's Broders.
I just sent in my paperwork for the Mecum Auction and got my Bank of America credit card all up to date. I really don't see us buying from the auction because people there know what they are doing in there but it doesn't cost me anything to get the number, so what the hell, you never know.
Here is a car they have on Sat... think it could go for $10,000??

If you added another 0 to the price, you might be gittin closer to it..

I know the voices aren't real, but they have some pretty cool ideas...

Just one thought. If you get one without power steering, you can put power steering on the car, even an older one. (well they are all old, but you know what I mean.)

You just need the pump, pulley, brackets, hoses, steering valve, center link and pitman arm. Remember to calculate the cost into the purchase.
[QUOTE=lbbounder]I would imagine there would be a car for you at Bloomington but having left Chicago yesterday I was surprised as to not having seen a single car on thr 6 hour trip home; there is a dealership south of Chicago I stopped at and they had a real nice 68 4 speed car but I did not price it or inspect it. Silver with blue interior.

I am surprised since it started today. I looked at what they have for the auction on Sat and there isn't much I would want and what I want I know I don't want to pay for... I really want to stay under $15,000.

I would rather subtract one

You just need... Ya right, I don't have my daddy around anymore to help me with working on cars and my husband, well... he knows where the gas goes
We are computer geeks. Give me a PC and I can take it apart and put it back together but a car... well that's a different story.

Hmmmm I still have my uncle.

[QUOTE=manget1]Get Richard Prince's C3 Buying Guide (there should be links here, or you can possibly get it from your local library).

Well I tried my hardest and I could not find a copy anywhere near me. I do have a copy reserved in St Charles, so I will pick it up when we go down on Sat but that doesn't really give me time to read it.

I do have Internet Access on my Smart Phone, so if I find something I will try and upload it on here and maybe if someone is on line they can give me some advice.
So guys, what do you think of these?

Here is my 80.. I brought down from chi.. is was my dads, he bought it for 5,000! ... but be careful up there ..i am dealing with a LOT of rust and other problems. For me, it is the love of the car and the love of it was my dad dream car and he got it before leavening this world.
Make sure you look for rust around the "birdcage" and under the car.. I love the north but it can be hard on those old cars. I have put 5,000 in to the car I am guessing I have another 5-8,000 to go before I am done.

Ok guys, this is where I get to play my ditzy (dyed) blonde hair card
....

What is the birdcage. I am assuming it is the top frame around the windows and roof but I don't want to be looking at the wrong thing. .
