did u see this one ?

I like this one too. It has had alot of the stuff already done that these older cars sometimes need. The ZZ4 is a definate plus as a replacement.

I read through his profile and just am curious about what "needs more work" really is. But a phone call and a look see could clear that up.

Vette(s): Silver 1974 Convertible - L82 4 speed Low miles (was only 8,900 when I bought it in March 2006) - Now 54K miles. Original owner bought it as an investment for son's college expenses. 2008 Jetstream Blue Convertible
Ok, looking through the Indiana Auto/RV book (you know, the kind you find in grocery store/liquor store/restaurant lobbies for free), I found three cars that fit the bill:

1970 Coupe - 126,717 mi., orig 350/300 hp engine, 4 spd, non-woring A/C, T-Tops, Mulsanne Blue, new Bright Blue interior, motor rebuilt at 126,000. paint ok, but not perfect.  $17,900 obo Cicero, IN 317-709-6403 - Doug  ad #CI6190334 page 38

1976 Chevy Corvette - 4spd, runs like new, PW, t-tops, leather, like new tires, newer paint, 82,000 miles, $9,500, Anderson, IN  765-644-6145, 765-620-1116, ad # BI6180174, page 109

1975 Corvette Convertible - 4 spd, AC, PB, PS, 52,000 mi, exc condi, $18,500 Bloomington, IN 812-332-0883 Ad # CI6190282, page 133

I copied these basically directly out of the magazine, and I'm not endorsing any of these cars, just trying to help with the search.  If you talk to any of these folks and are interested, I might be able to be convinced to go check one or more of them out.

By the way, it does look like the '75 is maroon (not red), but it is a convertible!  The '76 looks like it is black.

GOOD LUCK!!!

I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!

Vette(s): Red 1973 Convertible. L-48 Auto #'s matching Red 1970 LT-1 Convertible #'s matching
$19,000 for a 77 sure seems like alot for a late 70.s car..

The 74 for $13,000 is a much better deal. 74 is the 1st year of the complete change to neo bumpers.

They say getting the 1st or last year of a production change like that is a good thing.

TJ. Here's one that's only 20 mi. from me. It is not matching numbers and needs some work, however it may be worth a look. The paint is new and that's a big plus as far as I'm concerned. I emailed the guy for more info. I may go look at it. He's not asking much for it so it would leave some room for repairs as long as most of it is sound.  "T"

I really don't care for the blue colors.

Now I am going to get yelled at for this by someone, but I was advised to stay away from 76 and I have a 78 black in town this is in perfect shape if I decided to go with black.

I still am not thrilled about the red family but this one maybe worth looking in to.

I feel like such an ass when I have to say that the cars you guys show me are not what I want. I really do appreciate what everyone is doing.

Here is where I stand right now.

I had the Tan one looked at. It was decent, a few things needed but pretty solid. I am keeping it in the back of my head right now because no one is jumping on it and I am not sure about the color and the few things that need to be done with it.

I had an orange one looked at, that was a no good.

Went to 2 cars shows this weekend and that didn't turn out to be anything.

Mike has found an SA his going to look in to for me.

I have this guy calling me:
He left a couple of messages within hours. He is upset because I asked what was the problem with the hood not fitting right. It should be an interesting conversation when I finally talk to him. He is in St Louis, so that would be a far drive.

Right now that is about it. I just keep looking at craigslit and all the corvette for sale sites. I will keep you all informed and again, thank you all for doing this for me.
