[QUOTE=Tuxblacray]I really like this one. It appears to be in new condition. Price is very affordable. I can't tell if it is a 4spd or not but for the $$$ it could be converted.

We can stop talking about the purple car. It is sold. He had it for sale locally to and someone bought it but now there is an orange one up in Appleton, about 3 maybe less hours away and I will probably go look at tomorrow instead.
I guess it wasn't meant to be.
There now you have something to add to the "One that got away" thread.

It will come..............Orange is nice.

If one waits days to call someone back who has a great deal on a real cool car one is likely to find out said car is sold.
A great car for a great price isnt going to be available for a few months....
Heres to wishing you good luck!

For you people that have been at Fun Fest before. How likely would it be for me to find a car there? Is there a lot for sale or is there barely any?
I am going to go drive the 78 Black one again tonight. I guess what I am thinking is if I drive it again and like it, should I get it or should I wait until after Fun Fest to buy it if I am going to. There is no one interested in the car as of right now and I don't think there will be.
It's a really good car. It really needs nothing to be done on it besides tires. I don't know if I would be able to find another car in this good of shape in Yellow.
All I have ever wanted is to own a Corvette, period. A C3. That has been my main goal, my dream. Color and options were something secondary.
I don't not like the color black, though the little voice I hear in my head of my Daddy saying that no one can see dark cars and they can get in to more accidents keeps repeating itself. Also how much it is to keep black clean and shiny.
I do know if I bought it I would have to do something to it to make it original and stand out. A Corvette needs to stand out. There is a guy in town here that did the custom hand painted pin stripping on my T&C... yes my mini van has custom pin striping... no comments Tux.

While it's true black cars show dirt easier than most other colors, it doesn't mean they actually get any dirtier, or they are harder to keep clean...it just LOOKS that way.
If the car you are going to drive again is in good condition, runs well, and has few "issues" that need to be addressed, I'd have to seriously consider it. As I said before, the exact car you want may not even exist...they may have never even made one that color, that year, with a 4speed...ya just never know. I wouldn't pass up a really good car that I like just for the color, unless it was like, lavender or something!
IF the price is reasonable for the car, and you LIKE the car, why not think seriously about it?
btw...I don't think yer bein an idjit....you just want something very specific.Adams' Apple 2008-09-09 09:58:09

Make yourself a list of absolutes, four, five, or six wants and dislikes; find one that fits it that list... DO NOT buy a car you do not want; take the time it takes to find a car that "talks" to you. Just remember the longer the list the longer the search!

If when you first seen the vette..did it " wow " you... this is the one I want, if so then buy it...
remember you will be wanting to drive it for as long as you have been waiting to buy it.
and as it usually goes after you buy one someone will naturally tell you of a better deal.
So if it is the "one" buy it...and if a better deal comes along if you want...sell it and buy another one, or keep it and enjoy...summers are short.

And if a great car comes along dont wait for the seller to call 2 or 3 times before calling back. Otherwise they will all be "wasn't meant to be" cars.
This will only leave you the overpriced or needs alot of work cars.
