I put my 77 on a lift thinking I could reach up and replace the rubber fuel lines going from the fuel tank to the Steel line on the frame.

On a lift, looking at it, I am thinking I need to remove the muffer, tire carrier and anything else in my way. That just opens doors to start other projects...is Flowmasters....headers.....leaf Spring...here I go. I just want to stop the fuel leak dripping on the muffler....

If anyone has replaced these lines before and has any advice, namely simpler ideas I would Love to hear.

Thanks for your time.

Does your tank feed from the bottom, or the top? What I mean by "feed" is, does the main fuel line come out of the bottom or the top of the tank? I don't remember on the '77...
If it feeds from the bottom, then the fuel lines at the top sides of the tank are return line, and vapor return line.
I've replaced them before without removing anything but some skin on my arms. Of course, it's always easier if you have more room to stick your arms into, but I've never had to remove the mufflers, just unbolt the hangers, and let them hang down a bit.

On the 78s they are just to the right of the gas cap after removing the rubber boot. Kinda tricky to replace. Specialized tools help alot (needle nose pliers and such ).

From the books and diagrams it feeds from the top. I just have to remember to stay grounded and don't spark so I don't blow myself up.

Thanks

Are you absolutely certain it's a fuel leak ?  You can easily test it with a cigarette.
