Thanks for the reply buddy - but look at the fine print - I wish I could find a street legal of direct bolt on exhaust headers. Guess it back to the junk yard search! :)
The ultimate in headers for your vintage Corvette--Hedman HTC Hedders. These headers have a ceramic Hi Tech Coating, the best thermal protection on the market. Hedman HTC Hedders won't chip or peel, withstand temperatures up to 1,300 degrees, are more durable than chrome headers, and will never blue like chrome headers. Hedman HTC Hedders are a direct replacement for stock headers and include the gasket for easy installation. For off road use only. Note: air conditioning equipped cars require part number 628045.
Note the "For Off road use only. - I run into this alot -- it actually seems that no one makes Headers that are actually street legal. I would like to know - why Headers are not certified as "STREET LEGAL". Is it just that the manufacturers just don't want to go through the process of being certified or what?
IrishJoker,
Hello and welcome to C3VR!
I called a Corvette shop in my area and inquired about a set of '81 manifolds for you. They quoted me $300 for the pair. So they might as well be gold. If you want, I can go look at them and verify that they are '81's & are in great condition. And I can also figure out what UPS would charge to ship them.
Offer is open, just let me know if you want to wait or go for it.

Sarge,
Thanks for the search results - that's about what I ran up against at one place as well -- they wanted $275.00 a piece!!!! They are treating them as if they were made of "GOLD"!! The shop where my car is in the process of being restored has good contacts (I just talked with the shop owner about this issue and my problem locating new or good as new - used Exhaust Headers). He thinks he can do much better at the online Junkyards where they tend to compete for your business. He quoted a price of around $90.00 a piece. Bottom line is this seems to be a real problem with the 81 vette. I am going to see what he comes up with before I commit to a $200 or $300 layout of my own.
