I'm trying to decide on a muffler that makes the stock L-48 sound better without spending alot of dough.I've been told Flowmaster series 40's are the way to go.What do all you guys use? And what do you recommend for my '77 C3 that has little back pressure and sounds throaty? |cool|

People seem very happy with the Dynomax welded UltraFlows. Louder than stock, but not tinny like Flowmasters. That's what I'll be getting when I replace my exhaust system. Joe

If you want a growl, Flowmaster 40's. I a=have Flowmaster Deltaflow 50's on my CE and a nice rumble but no resonnance. It it up to you about how much interior noise you want |headscratch|

I just had Flowmaster 50's installed on my 79. If you want a more aggressive sound (ie louder) the 40's are definitely the way to go. I wanted a nice low rumble but not a lot of
noise because my wife likes to drive the car as well. For what i wanted the 50's are great.
For what it's worth, the 50's are three chambered vs the 40's being 2 chambered which accounts for the different sound. The shop that installed mine had a street rod with 40's installed and it was considerably louder than the 50's.
