I had a performer RPM on my small block with an Edelbrock carb and a drop base 2x14" air cleaner - about 1/2" of room from air cleaner to hood. Don't know about the Demon though...

Paul I sure am gald you posted that. I was lookin at your set up and wonderin about your clearance. I am going back old school and puttin an Edelbrock Streetmaster intake with the stock quadrajet. It should be very similar to your clearance.
