Finally got the correct EGR valve - A/T is difrrent from Standard, identified the correct orifice size from the old EGE and am wondering why they include in the box some thing that would fit over the orifice that looks like a hat with a hole in the top. I am guessig I should put it over the orifice and it would compesating/protect the 1/4' spacer plate on the base of the valve. On the other hand the hole on the top of the extension is smaller than the identified orifice plate/washer causing a restriction. I have intialy installed the EGR with just the orifice washer and original equipment base plate spacer but I am worrying nothing metal is protecting the original Eq spacer. Car is running better than ever but I am afriaid I am burning the spacer. Anybody run into this? Thanks - I will post some photos this weekend....

Yes...pics would be much help! I'm not sure if I'm following your post correctly. As far as I know, there is only a thin gasket between the EGR and the manifold. Not sure about a spacer....
