Topic: 82 Exhaust Manifold
in Forum: C3 Fuel, Emission Control, and Exhaust Systems
Quick question - what happened to the one you have now that would require you to get another one? Just curious as to what can / may go wrong with something like an exhaust manifold.
thanks
Willis,
'81 and '82 vettes had stainless steel tubular exhaust manifolds. They look like a "shortie header." The A.I.R. injection tubes on an '82 are curved. '81's were straight. And the tubes are welded solid to the tubular pipes.
From what I've heard over the years is that the '81-82 manifolds are prone to cracking. I sold the ones off of my '81 last year for $100. So I guess the buyer got a deal.
Kinger82,
When I get back from C3X, I will call a guy down the road that has a vette shop and see if he has anything lying around.

Thanks Sarge and Kinger82 - you learn something everyday on this forum. I've always loved those 81s and 82s - some of the sharpest looking C3s ever on the road. Good luck in your search.
