Wife came out this morning and the vette wouldn't start, after some quick checks I found that both injectors were not feeding any fuel....Shocked

I guessing fuel pump... Any one had this happen or know of a common problem.

thanks

First thing I would do is have someone back by the gas tank listening for the pump to "hum" for a moment once the key is turned on. If there is a humming noise for a moment, I would check out the fuel filter. I could be plugged.

If there is no noise from the fuel pump I would check the fuses. If they are ok, then test for fuel pressure at the Throttle Bodies. You will need a fuel pressure tester with 2 ends so that you can hook up to both TBI's. There is a metal line that connects the two TBI's. That metal line would be removed and the tester placed in line.

Turn the key to on and you should get a steady reading of 9-13 psi. If not the chances are the fuel pump is dead. If you do get a good pressure reading, turn the key to the off position. If the fuel pressure falls rapidly even when the key was on, one the pressure regulators on the TBI is failed.

If it checks out that the fuel pump died, then according to the manual you should be able to remove the sending unit without dropping the tank.

You will need to disconnect the battery. Remove the fuel filler door and bezel. Reach in there and disconnect the electrical connections and fuel lines. Remove the sending unit retaining bolts. And gently pull out the sending unit /pump assembly. Then change out the fuel pump. And install in reverse order.

Let us know what you find.
