Vette(s): 1970 stingray, t-top, mulsanne blue with black interior, 406 ci with 444 hp, racing suspension, hooker headers/sidepipes - SOLD :(
I'm looking for dual circular exhaust tips to put on my 1970 stingray in place of the stock rectangular tips. I was looking at the C5 chrome-plated or stainless steel exhaust tips from Corvette America, as I like the way they look and they look as though they may fit, but I need to be absolutely sure. So, if anyone has a C5 that they're willing to examine for me...I need to know the inlet and outlet sizes, length, and especially width, of the tips, because the tips I've looked at in town would not fit in the 7" wide cutouts that the old stingrays had.

My old Stingray...sure do miss it:

There is a C5 sitting here at the school for the GM program. I will bring my calipers tomorrow to make sure I get a good meaurement. I'll let you know.
We also got a new C6 in on Saturday. VERY NICE. Bright yellow 6 speed vert. Now here at the college.
Can't wait until I can check it out. Too bad I can't drive it off the parking lot, and maybe not at all.

Vette(s): 1973 Stingray Coupe and C5 and C6 Coupes.
Below is a picture of the stock exhaust on my C5. It has the oval (stock) tips.
I can go measure what you need, but I am not sure I understand exactly what you are trying to do.
The C5 exhaust has 2 round exhaust pipes coming out of each muffler. Each pipe has a tip. Thus you have 2 mufflers, 4 pipes, 4 tips.
My 73 has 1 pipe coming out of each muffler. In order to put dual C5 tips on it one would need to do some fancy pipe work to go from 1 pipe out of the muffler and make it 2 pipes. Or ... I know there are aftermarket tips that are made with 1 inlet and 2 outlets.
To give you a better idea of what the exhaust system looks like, look at (dial up beware): http://rogerdean.org/Corvette/2002/mods/exhaust_200305.htm This is its new exhaust, it is the same configuration as the old, only the pipes are much bigger.
If you can tell me more about what to measure, I'll be glad to go climb up into the garage attic with a ruler and get you some dimensions.

On the C5 here at the college
The tips are 3 1/2 inches wide each. As mounted with a slight gap between them, they span close to 7 1/2 inches. A quick check of the pipe looks like a 1 7/8 outer diam.
