whether you use kens throttle idea or my tach idea..
without contant use you would need to have your car set on a less agressive initial timing.. but you could install weak advance springs and use a smaller limit bushing.
im going to expirement with mine once i get it in a stable form.. (im still playing with too many other things to introduce a new variable)
i plan to use a three stage system.. one small nozzle used at idle, another small nozzle to kick in at 2K and a medium nozzle to kick in at 3K.
these RPM figures are rough.. they will probably be matched against my advance curve. full squirt at full advance.

You are right. It would not affect the fuel system from water injection.
As far a the cylinder goes, some engines run on alchohol alone, with stock type rings and valves. It won't hurt the cylinder at all. You can see valve seat wear, but even pushing 40 or 50% won't hurt the valves or seats.
So, no harm to the engine.
And in reality the tach idea is better suited to control this system. The throttle is not always a good indication of system performance, conditions, and load. But it depends on your budget. Better usually cost more. I like better, but my wallet disagrees. Sometimes I wait until I can afford it, sometimes I find a cheaper, but functional, way. Never cheap out in a way that makes a poor system or inferior repair. It comes back to haunt you.

we all do.. this place has helped rejuvenate my interest in wrench turning.. i lost it for a couple of years.. almost forgot how much fun it is.
my neighbors must love it.. every saturday afternoon there is a new "heap" in the driveway..
last weekend, new ball joints, tie rod ends, rear shocks, stablizer arm bushings, steering column, and all new brakes on a 92 taurus wagon.. even this is fun..
threads like this one make me rethink all the crazy stuff i tried when i was younger and improve upon it..
by the way.. something really strange.. the haynes said that taurus had rear struts.. autozone only listed rear struts.. the car had shocks.. had to get shocks for a 90 model.. they were a perfect match.. then the brakes listed at autozone didnt match... tried 89,90,91, and finally the 93 brakes matched.. definitely strange..
anyway.. keep it coming guys.. i love this stuff..

I see the mismatch in parts quite often. Sometimes it's a trailer package, Police package, wagon or sedan with the others parts, heavy duty, or just model year changes extending into or from another year. It's odd, but far more common than most think.
The problem is the books list the most common or what should have otherwise been there. It can be a real problem sometimes.
After dealing with and fixing and teaching cars for 30 years, I still love it. It's still fun. At times it can be a pain, but I end up realizing that after it's all said and done, even the repair jobs I hated were still fun. It's fixed, it runs, it works, I feel great.
But then I have been accused of having gas instead of blood. Maybe true.
