Just picked these up on E-Bay and the drive side hits the block at the point where the engine mount bolt on, just the drive side, plenty of room on passager side. engine is on stand, just started rebuild. description said that they would fit any sbc from 55 and up. Is a Vette block differant as far as the point that the engine mount bolt on.

The block dimensions are the same on all small-blocks('55-'96) with the exception of the early 265ci, and the early Nova blocks.

How tight is it?
Does it keep you from being able to bolt up the mount?
What part of the header is hitting?
Have you contacted the seller about it?
Can you bolt it up, and maybe "persuade" the collector away from the mount boss on the block?

Welcome to C3VR, btw!

Send us a pic of where it's hitting the block. If it's a tube, you may be able to get away with dimpling it. If its the collector flange, thats about where she'll sit.

Did you check this with the bolts tightened? You'd be surprised bow much the bottom of the header will swing if it's not tight....(I think this is the persuasion that Joel is referring to...)Wink

I think the probem is with way the header were made, tried test fitting on a 75 Camaro engine, same problem.  Took the headers to a custom exhaust shop that will be doing the rest of the exhaust after the rebuild and he showed me where there was a quarter of an inch diff between the front and rear pipes putting the front at the wrong angle. Have contacted the seller, so we will see. Try to save a buck or two on Ebay and end up putting getting the heads to the machine shop behind schedule.
