Vette(s): 1982 C3 Collectors Edition 44000 miles, sat in the sun most of its life, My wife purchased it for me for Father's Day in 2007 from her girlfriend that had it for 19 years. It is on the road again. I'm retired but it is now my daily driver.
I had to remove my exhaust pipe and noticed that my 82 did not have a metal washer (that is a brass doughnut) between the exhaust pipe and the manifold.  Is it suppose to have one?

Iirc, the '81-'82s had tubular exhaust manifolds(like headers, but not really). There would be no need for any gaskets. The "manifolds" have a coned seat, and the pipes have a flared end, to fit snugly on the cone.
